UAE - Mubasher: The Producer Price Index (PPI) of Dubai's manufacturing sector declined by 8.23% during the second quarter (Q2) of 2020, when compared to the same period of 2019, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
On a quarterly basis, the PPI lowered by 5.86% in Q2-20, when compared to the first quarter of 2019, as shown by the latest data of the Dubai Statistics Centre.
In Q2-20, the decline in PPI is driven by lower prices of some sectors, including refined petroleum products with a 54.83% year-on-year (YoY) decrease, basic metals with 15.04%, as well as motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers with 5.95%.
On the other hand, the prices of other manufacturing products, printing and reproduction of recorded media, chemicals and chemical products, as well as fabricated metal products increased by 29.71%, 13.79%, 6.86%, and 4.25%, respectively.
