Dubai to build low income homes, cooperate with private developers

Dubai – Decypha: The government of Dubai has approved a new housing policy designed to provide homes for low-income households, in addition to renovating some old areas in the emirate.

The policy will be implemented through a cooperation with real estate developers to provide more housing units for low-income families, reported Arabian Business.

The policy will classify low-income people into locals and expats. The plan will also include a breakdown by income, place of residence, benefits received, among others.

The policy coincides with the state’s decision to conduct random inspections of households to fight the phenomena of overcrowded apartments.
