Dubai – Mubasher: Dubai will launch soon the first waqf sukuk in the work, Al Bayan newspaper quoted Abdulla Al-Atram, CEO of the Dubai Islamic Economy Development Centre (DIEDC), as saying.
Such sukuk aim to finance different waqf projects all over the world in an organised and monitored way.
Revenues generated from waqf sukuk-funded projects will transferred to the “sukuk waqf fund”, the newspaper added.
Dubai saw 40 sukuk listings during the period the launch date of “Transforming Dubai into a Global Centre for Islamic Bonds” initiative till mid-2016.
