Dubai - Mubasher: The president of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), and the CEO and chairman of the Emirates Group said on Tuesday that the Dubai’s economy is expected to grow by 3.1% in 2017.

Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum added in his speech in front of the UAE Economic Outlook Forum 2017, that the Emirate achieved a real growth rate of 2.7% in 2016.

This growth comes despite low oil prices and the recession seen by many developing and emerging economies, with the growth of global trade slowing down at only 1.7%, Al Maktoum indicated.

The UAE continued last year with its plan for achieving economic diversification, it moved up by 8 places in the World Bank’s Doing Business Report.

The UAE Economic Outlook 2017 was launched on Tuesday, and will be held between 17 to 18 January, under the theme 'Getting a Headstart on Tomorrow: Innovation and Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Growth and Diversification."
