Dubai – Mubasher: The emirate of Dubai has welcomed nearly 10.85 million visitors during the first eight months of 2019, up 4% from 10.44 million visitors in the same period of 2018.
Indians came in the first place among the top visitors to Dubai during this period, followed by Saudi Arabia and the UK, according to a report by the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM).
In August, the number of hospitality establishments reached 712, versus 703 establishments in the same month of 2018, data showed.
Moreover, occupied room nights stood at 20.55 million at the end of August, compared to 19.56 million nights in the prior-year period, the DTCM highlighted.
In 2018, Dubai had attracted around 16 million international guests, which reinforces its position as a favorite global destination.
Dubai seeks to achieve its main strategic goals to attract 20 million visitors a year by 2020.
