Dubai welcomes 171,000 visitors from GCC in Eid Al-Fitr

UAE – Mubasher: The number of GCC visitors to the emirate of Dubai totalled 171,330 during the Eid Al-Fitr holiday, a three-day Muslim festival marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan, data by the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) showed.

The number of Saudi arrivals to Dubai reached 43,500 people in a week, Al Bayan newspaper reported, citing the DTCM.

In the first five months of 2019, the GCC tourists have made up 17% or of 1.2 million tourists of total arrivals to the emirate.

The DTCM previously posted that the number of Arab tourists who visited Dubai in the first quarter of 2019 reached around 1.22 million, compared to 921,000 tourists in Q1-18.

It is worth noting that the GCC emirate had welcomed around 1.53 million visitors from all over the world in February, versus 1.46 million visitors in the same month of 2018.
