Dubai – Mubasher: Ducab HV, a subsidiary of Ducab Group, has installed 400 kilovolts (kV) cable circuit in Taweelah B Power station in Abu Dhabi, which is owned by Taweelah Asia Power Company (Tapco).
The 400 kV cable circuit operates with 1000 times the voltage of the power socket in an average home, according to a company statement released on Sunday.
“One of the key reasons we awarded this project to Ducab HV was the challenging timeline and to complete the project two months ahead of schedule shows the real benefit of having a world-class local supplier,” TAPCO’s managing director Dale Huntington commented.
“Ducab HV was conceived as a joint venture between local utilities and Ducab for exactly this reason; to be able to provide the highest technology from a local base,” Ducab HV’s chairman Ahmad Al Mazrouei said.
Ducab Group, which is jointly owned by the Investment Corporation of Dubai and General Holding Corporation (Senaat), didn't give further details on the cost of the project.
