A total AED 2.81 billion revenues were collected through the e-Dirham payment gateway in 2016, while the revenue through the service centers amounted to AED 5.03 billion during the same year.
The number of service transactions done through the e-Dirham system rose 6.94% to 38.65 million in 2016 as compared to 2015.
The total payment receipts stood at 19.85 receipts in 2016, an increase of 18.7% compared to 2015.
“The e-Dirham services have achieved positive results by increasing revenue this year, contributing to government revenues, and increasing time efficiency whilst completing various transactions,” according to Saeed Rashid Al Yateem, Assistant Undersecretary for Resources and Budget Sector at the Ministry of Finance.
