Cairo – Mubasher: Investments of Egyptian American Enterprise Fund (EAEF) in Egypt reached $130 million.
The fund has attracted other investments from foreign institutions at the same value, the annual report of the EAEF showed.
Investments included buying a majority stake in Orchidia Pharmaceutical from SPE Capital, previously known as Swicorp.
The fund also invested in local companies, including Investia Venture Capital.
The EAFF is determined to pump $550,000 into the start-up accelerator programme Flat6Labs out of total $5.5 million to be injected in the programme in coordination with Egypt Venture and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).
Last March, reports revealed that the EAEF had begun the regulations to acquire a majority stake in Misr Hytech Seed International.
