EEHC gets $230m loan from Banque Misr

Cairo – Mubasher: State-owned Egyptian Electricity Holding Co (EEHC) has obtained a $230 million loan from Banque Misr to finance its investment plan.

The loan is part of a $500 million financing agreement that Egypt's second-largest state-owned lender had signed with one of the Chinese financing institutions in the fourth quarter of 2016, local newspaper Al Shorouk reported.

In June, the finance ministry had signed an agreement with HSBC Bank, Credit Suisse, and other local and foreign banks to provide a $900 million loan for EEHC, which the company will pay off in foreign currencies.
