EETC inks EGP 170m deal to set up underground cable

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) signed a contract with Madkour Group to set up an XLPE underground cable at a capacity of 220 kilovolt (kv) in East Cairo.

The contract includes the replacement of an overhead power line with underground cables at a length of 4.8 kimoletres (km), EETC’s chairman Sabah Mashaly said in a statement on Monday.

At a cost of EGP 170 million, the contract will be executed over a period of six months, Mashaly added.
