EETC inks EGP 362m contract to supply, install substations

Cairo – Mubasher: State-run Egyptian Electricity Transmission Co (EETC) has signed a contract with Elsewedy Electric Co to supply, install, and test 52 substations.

The contract valued at around EGP 362.4 million, which was self-financed, with an execution period of up to five months, chairman of EETC said.

The project aims at supporting the substations in the governorates of Cairo, Delta, Alexandria, the Canal, Middle and Upper  Egypt in a bid to reduce estimated uploads in these areas, Gamal Abdel-Raheem added in a statement.

In October, EETC signed three purchasing agreements with a consortium of TBEA, Swicorp Company, and ACCIONA Energia for a 150-megawatt photovoltaic power project in Benban, Aswan as part of the second phase of the feed-in tariff programme.
