EETC inks EGP 424m deal to install underground cable

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) signed an agreement with Energya Power & Telecom Solutions and Energya Power Cables to supply and install XLPE underground cable at a capacity of 220 kilovolt (kv).

The cable will connect El-Nahda substation with Obour and Heliopolis substations in Cairo, EETC’s chairman Sabah Mashaly said in a statement on Wednesday.

The EGP 424 million deal includes supplying and installing copper and fibre optic cables on a turnkey basis over a period of nine months starting from 12 July.
