EETC inks EGP 92m substation development deal

Cairo – Mubasher: Egyptian Electricity Transmission Co (EETC) has signed a deal with a consortium comprised of SIEYUAN and Mega Company for developing Esna substation.

The project is set to be implemented in up to 12 months with around EGP 91.989 million in investments, Almal News reported, citing the company’s chairman Gamal Abdel Raheem.

The state-run electricity firm also signed another contract with El Nasr Transfer and Electrical Products (Elmaco) to supply, install, and test around 51 transformers, Abdel Raheem indicated, adding that this deal is projected to be executed in five months with around EGP 355.47 million in investments.

In April, EETC refused to raise tariff for purchasing generated power from projects owned by the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA).
