EFG Hermes denies expanding into Latin America

Cairo – Mubasher: EFG Hermes has no plans to expand into Latin America, Enterprise reported on Tuesday, according to a source at the group.

The Egyptian investment bank will only start launching research coverage of some Latin American markets, including Peru and Argentina, the source highlighted.

 Almal News reported yesterday, quoting the head of research at EFG Hermes Ahmed Shams, that the company was considering expansion into Latin America by 2019, in addition to opening representative offices there.

EFG Hermes currently operates in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon, Oman, Pakistan, Kenya, and the US.
