EFG Hermes implements 10 deals worth $870m

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Financial Group Hermes Holding's (EFG Hermes) investment banking division has succeeded in implementing 10 investment deals worth $870 million since the beginning of 2017, the company's co-head of Investment Banking Mostafa Gad said Monday.

EFG Hermes has also concluded the advisory partnership between Intro Investments Holding and Native Markets in the Egyptian market, EFG said in a statement, indicating that with over 40 retail outlets across its portfolio of brands, Native Markets is a leader in the food and beverage sector, and is the owner of bakery and pastry producer TBS, TBS Express, The Four Fat Ladies, Delicious Bakery, and Patties Burgers.

Meanwhile, financial investor Intro Investments Holding has the experience in partnering up with various firms in the MENA region to enhance operations and raise shareholder value.

"The partnership will see Native Markets accelerate its growth plans, in terms of both store rollout and manufacturing capability. Both parties are keen to capitalise on the new partnership to further develop Native Markets’ position as a leading local F&B retailer and producer," EFG revealed.

“EFG Hermes is proud to have facilitated this partnership, which will allow for further strong growth and institutionalization of a leading home-grown concept built up by Egyptian entrepreneurs,” Gad said, adding that the deal "complements a very successful year that saw EFG Hermes investment banking Division close 10 high-profile transactions with an aggregate value in excess of $870 million in the first half of 2017.”

EFG Hermes was the only financial advisor for Native Markets’ shareholders, while Al Tamimi Law Office was its legal advisor.
