EFG Hermes launches 1st virtual investor conference on Monday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Financial Group Hermes Holding (EFG Hermes) announced on Monday the launch of its first virtual investor conference.

The event will be held between 22 and 30 June, bringing together executives from 72 companies representing 14 countries with above 480 investors managing assets worth $15 trillion, according to a statement.

The conference events will be accessed through a digital platform run by the leading financial services corporation in frontier emerging markets (FEM).

The conference is being held in the middle of significant global economic changes as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to have effects, with special challenges facing FEMs,” CEO of EFG Hermes, Karim Awad, said.

However, the current maceconomic changes “might create new opportunities for countries, markets and companies,” co-CEO of the Investment Bank at EFG Hermes, Mohamed Ebeid, pointed out.

We do see the prospect of some relief from immediate pressures, with an easing of FEM portfolio outflows expected as major central banks continuing to implement large expansionary programs,” Ebeid added.
