Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s pound exchange rate against the US dollar kept tumbling on early Thursday to near 18.25-55 for purchase and 18.4-95 for sale.
The highest rates for bids stood at EGP 18.55 per dollar by El Bank El Ahlay El Ynany, while the same bank along with HD Bank, Credit Agricole, and Faisal bank offered the highest rate for asks by EGP 18.95 a dollar.
The EGP-USD pair was traded at 18.25 for bids and 18.5-75 for asks, according to Banque Misr and the National Bank of Egypt.
The average rate set by the bank of Egypt on 14 December was EGP 18.85 a dollar for sale and EGP 18.45 a dollar for purchase.
