EGX benchmark edges down 0.07%; equities shed EGP 117m

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices slide collectively on Monday, as the benchmark index EGX30 fell 0.07% to close at 6,744 points.

The small and mid - cap index EGX70 inched down 0.32% to 370 points, while the broader index EGX100 edged down 0.06% to 769 points.

Similarly, the equal-weighted index EGX50 sagged 0.03% to 1,173 points.

The heavy eight Commercial International Bank fell 0.31% to EGP 35.7, with trading value of EGP 26.07 million.

Qalaa Holdings has recorded trading values worth EGP 33.1 million, after the company's announcement that that MENA GLASS LTD, a subsidiary, signed two agreements to exit Misr Glass Manufacturing and United Company for Glass Bottling, in a deal worth EGP 828 million ($107.92 million).

The market's total turnover recorded EGP 462.1 million.

The market capitalisation shed nearly EGP 117 million to reach EGP 424.6 billion.

Foreign and Arab investors came as net sellers with EGP 10.8 and EGP 678,000 respectively, while local investors came as net buyers with EGP 11.5 million.
