Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange closed on a positive note on Sunday, as the benchmark index advanced 1.07% or 63.4 points to close at 6,007.8 points.
The small and mid-caps index added 0.83% to 352.3 points, while the broader index EGX100 inched up 0.98% to 711.3 points.
Similarly, the weighted index EGX50 inched up 1.2% to 1,110 points.
The market’s total trading value amounted to EGP 258.1 million.
Out of 151 stocks traded today, advancers outnumbered decliners by 73 to 29, while 49 remained unchanged.
More blue chips hit the green zone today, topped by Commercial International Bank that gained 1.88%, followed by Global Telecom and Palm Hills as they advanced 2.54% and 1.3% respectively.
Foreign investors ended as net buyers with EGP 7.7 million, while local and Arab investors ended as net sellers with EGP 5.3 million and EGP 2.5 million respectively.
The market capitalisation gained EGP 1.7 billion ($219.6 million) reaching EGP 387.95 billion.
