EGX breaks 14,000 pts early Wednesday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) started Wednesday’s trading session in the green territory on the back of local and foreign buying.

By 10:20 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index grew 0.66% to 14,069.24 points, gaining 92.72 points

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index levelled up 0.18% to 687.15 points, while the broader EGX100 index added 0.23% to 1,728.94 points and the equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 0.78% to 2,261 points.

Trading volume was around 18.8 million shares exchanged through 2,100 transactions at a turnover of EGP 88.6 million.

Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 340,900, while foreign and Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 235,160 and EGP 105,800, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) added 0.36% to EGP 84.
