Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s trading session on a mixed note.
The benchmark EGX30 index has maintained its upward trend and rose 0.86% to 14,366.06 points, gaining 122.25 points.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) jumped 3.15% to EGP 86.5, with a turnover of EGP 79.99.
The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index tumbled 0.12% to 686.13 points, while the broader EGX100 index inched down 0.03% to 1,732.08 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index edged up 0.09% to 2,309 points.
Trading volume amounted to around 243.9 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.03 billion through 31,670 transactions.
Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 70.05 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 51.7 million and EGP 18.28 million, respectively.
Market capitalisation closed at EGP 797.7 billion and gained EGP 1.6 billion.
