EGX breaks 14,800 pts early Tuesday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has seen an upward trend early Tuesday on the back of local and Arab purchases.

By 10.23 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 45.88 points, or 0.31%, to 14,830.7 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index levelled up 0.18% to 696.62 points, while the EGX 100 index added 0.18% to 1,763.18 points.

Similarly, the equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 0.21% to 2,390 points.

Meanwhile, trading volume amounted to 8.2 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 48.09 million through 1,600 transactions.

Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 371,500, whereas Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 350,400 and EGP 21,120, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) rose 0.76% to EGP 90.01.
