EGX breaks 15,000 pts early Tuesday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) has seen an upward trend early Tuesday on the back of Egyptian buying.

By 10:22 Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index gained 113.19 points, or 0.76%, to 15,059 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index edged up 0.24% to 717.52 points, while the broader EGX100 index added 0.32% to 1,811 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index jumped 1.04% to 2,482 points.

Trading volume amounted to 29.65 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 87.9 million through 2,900 transactions.

Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 1.29 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 732,270 and EGP 566,800, respectively.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) levelled up 0.42% to EGP 72.
