Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Wednesday’s trading session up on the back of foreign buying.
By 10:30 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 0.41%, to 15,229 points.
The EGX70 index inched up 0.04% to 687.01 points, and the broader EGX100 index added 0.12% to 1,749.43 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index went up 0.12% to 2,419 points.
Trading volume amounted to around 7.6 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 72.44 million through 1,800 transactions.
Foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 7.2 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 3.9 million and EGP 3.25 million, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) jumped 1.24% to EGP 74.2, with a turnover of EGP 18.8 million.
