EGX breaks above 15,500 pts early Monday

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) opened Monday’s trading session on a mixed note amid local and non-Arab buying against Arab selling.

By 10:30 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 49.33 points, or 0.32%, to 15,517.10 points.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) added 0.93% to EGP 78.5 at a turnover of EGP 4.9 million.

The EGX70 index went up 0.39% to 861.88 points, while the EGX100 index dipped 0.04% to 2,078 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 0.82% to 2,726 points.

Trading volume reached about 18.5 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 123.4 million through 3,800 transactions.

Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 9.5 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers with EGP 9.2 million and EGP 374,300, respectively.
