Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Monday’s session on a negative note, pressured by the sales of foreign investors.
The benchmark EGX30 index declined 0.84% or 105 points to the level of 12,444.2 points.
The EGX70, EGX100, and EGX50 indices also fell by 0.88%, 0.74%, and 0.09%, respectively.
The market capitalisation decreased by EGP 1.7 billion to EGP 608.03 billion.
Trading volume reached 246 million shares exchanged at EGP 1.26 billion.
Global Telecom topped losers after falling 5.48% to EGP 7.25, while Domty retreated by 2.58%.
Heavyweight CIB dropped 1.83% to EGP 74.7, with a turnover of EGP 89 million.
Net sales by foreign investors amounted to EGP 67 million, while net purchases reached EGP 47 million by local investors and EGP 20 million by Arabs.
