EGX closes Monday in red

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday’s trading session in a decline on the back of the Egyptian investors’ selling activity.

The main index EGX30 lost 0.42% or 56.30 points, and closed at the level of 13,431.06 points.

EGX70 went down 0.26% to 655.18 points, while the broader index EGX100 decreased 0.28% and closed at 1,515.19 points.

Likewise, the equal-weighted index EGX50 slipped 0.11% and closed at the level of 2,086.19 points.

The market capital closed at EGP 694.13 billion, losing around EGP 1.06 billion.

Traded volumes reached 233.6 million shares with a total turnover of EGP 622.5 million, through around 18,600 transactions.

Egyptian investors leaned towards selling with a net EGP 60.4 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers at EGP 54.1 million and EGP 6.3 million, respectively.
