EGX closes Monday on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Tuesday’s trading session on a mixed note, as the market cap increased EGP 2.7 billion ($304 million) on the back of Arab investors’ buying.

The benchmark index EGX30 added 0.94% or 74.57 points closing at the level of 8,048.69 points, while EGX70 lost 0.29% reaching 350.24 points.

The broader index EGX100 increased 0.11% to and reached 801.99 points.

Similarly, the equal-weighted index EGX50 grew 1,350.85 points.

The market cap grew by EGP 2.7 billion to reach EGP 413.8 billion, compared to EGP 411.1 billion in the last session.

Arab investors leaned towards buying netting EGP 60 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors netted EGP 19.7 million and EGP 36.3 million respectively.

Total turnover equalled EGP 404.8 million, with a traded volume of 117.9 million shares.

A total of 162 stocks were traded today, of which 58 rose, 46 fell, and 58 remained unchanged.
