Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Sunday’s session up, bolstered by Egyptian and foreign buying.
The benchmark EGX30 index rose 0.83% or 115.72 points to the level of 13,997.69 points.
Market capitalisation closed at EGP 776.57 billion, gaining EGP 7.9 EGP.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank (CIB) inched up 0.3% to EGP 79.71, with a turnover of EGP 38.25 million.
The EGX70 index levelled up 1.69% to 811.73 points, while the EGX100 index grew 1.04% to 1,807.17 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index rose 2.12% to 2,392 points.
Trading volume reached 398.19 million shares exchanged at EGP 1.2 billion through 36,500 transactions.
Blue chips including Alexandria Mineral Oils Co (AMOC), Egyptian Iron and Steel (HADISOLB), and Arab Cotton ginning surged 10.68%, 9.88%, and 9.85%, respectively.
On the other hand, Elsewedy Electric, Eastern Company, Telecom Egypt fell 6.09%, 1.52%, and 1.23%, respectively.
