EGX closes Sunday on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) saw a mixed performance by the end of Sunday’s trading session amid Egyptian investors’ selling.

The benchmark EGX30 index inched down 0.10% or 13.15 points to the level of 12,913.25 points.

The EGX70 index rose 1.16% to 699.16 points, while the EGX100 index ascended 0.81% to 1,567.67 points.

The equally-weighted EGX50 index edged up 0.33% to 1,999.52 points.

Traded volume reached 106.35 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 374.12 million through 15,270 transactions.

Market capitalisation gained EGP 1.48 billion and closed at EGP 690.48 billion.

Egyptian investors were net sellers by EGP 432.27 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net buyers by EGP 257.47 million and EGP 175 million, respectively.

Blue chips Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals (Sidpec), Madinet Nasr Housing and Development, and Orascom Telecom levelled up 2.63%, 2.18%, and 1.54%, respectively.

On the other hand, Egyptian Financial and Industrial SAE (EFIC), Citadel Capital, and Egyptian Iron and Steel (HADISOLB) dwindled 2.93%, 1.8%, and 1.78%, respectively.

Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) shed 0.71% to EGP 80.75, with a turnover of EGP 13 million.
