EGX closes Sunday on positive note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices rose on Sunday, supported by local and foreign purchases, achieving market cap gains of EGP 3 billon on the first session of November.

Benchmark index EGX30 levelled up by 0.44% to close at 14,622 points.

Small and medium-sized enterprises index EGX70 increased by 0.65% to 542.75 points, while the broader EGX100 closed with 0.59% gains at the level of 1,445 points.

Equal-weighted index EGX50 added 0.92% and settled at 2,120 points.

Market capitalizations increased by EGP 3.31 billion, closing the session at EGP 731.01 billion, compared with EGP 727.7 billion by the end of last week.

Traded volumes amounted to 159.55 million shares, with a total turnover of EGP 1.08 billion, through around 23,380 transactions.

At the end of the session, 77 stocks closed in the green zone, while 47 ended the session in losses, and 53 remained unchanged.

Egyptian and foreign investors were inclined towards buying, netting EGP 5.01 million, and EGP 25.68 million, respectively. On the other hand, Arab investors were net sellers at EGP 30.7 million.
