EGX closes Thursday in decline

Cairo – Mubasher: The EGX30 benchmark index of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Thursday down by 0.15% at 11,578.54 points.

The EGX50 EWI also went down by 1.03% to 2,024.17 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 EWI fell by 1.45% to 2,116.39 points. Similarly, EGX100 EWI declined by 1.35% to end the session at 3,140 points.

EGX’s turnover decreased to EGP 919.53 million from EGP 1.24 billion in the previous session and the trading volume shrank to 292.39 million shares from 439.55 million shares.

The market cap value also declined to EGP 749.51 billion from EGP 753.07 billion.

As for trading on securities, Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 83.69 million and EGP 2.92 million, respectively, while foreign traders were net sellers with EGP 119,422.
