Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Thursday’s trading session in green territory, supported by the purchasing activity of Egyptian and Arab investors.
The benchmark index EGX30 levelled up 0.76% and ended the session at 14,665 points.
The small and medium enterprise index EGX70 added 0.33% and closed at 685.9 points, while the broader index EGX100 went up 0.42% to settle at the level of 1,739 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index rose 0.4% to the level of 2,390 points.
The market capitalisation increased by EGP 6 billion, and reached a total of EGP 814.7 billion.
Traded volumes increased to 143.8 million shares, with a total turnover of EGP 745.019 million, through around 19,900 transactions.
The Commercial International Bank (CIB), the heaviest stock in the main index, went up 1.84% to EGP 68.55 at a turnover of EGP 111.3 million.
Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 112.6 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 63.6 million and EGP 48.9 million, respectively.
