EGX closes Thursday in green

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) indices closed Thursday collectively up on the back of foreign and Arab buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index rose 1.07% or 147.69 points to the level of 13,888.51 points.

Similarly, the EGX70 index grew 1.43% to 773.53 points, while the EGX100 index added 1.51% to 1,723.81 points.

Likewise, the equal-weighted EGX50 index gained 1.53% to 2,313.32 points.

Market capitalisation closed at EGP 748.59 billion, rising EGP 9.68 billion.

Turnover increased to EGP 1.7 billion, as 764.8 million shares were traded through 40,800 transactions.

Foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 84.3 million and EGP 13.6 million, respectively, while Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 97.9 million.

Blue chips including Amer Group, Emaar Misr, Porto Group Holding, and EFG Hermes levelled up 8.33%, 6.58%, 6.36%, and 4.36%, respectively.

On the other hand, Arab Cotton Ginning, Arabian Cement, Citadel Capital, and Sidi Kerir Petrochemicals (Sidpec) fell 2.29%, 1.87%, 1.49%, and 1.2%, respectively.
