EGX closes Thursday in the green zone

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange’s (EGX) indices rose collectively on Thursday amid Arab buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index closed the session 0.39% or 54.09 points up at 13,955.47 points.

Market capitalisation gained EGP 1.8 billion and closed at EGP 769.9 billion.

The heavyweight Commercial International – Egypt (CIB) shed 1.53% to EGP 76.01 at a turnover of EGP 56 million.

The EGX70 index inched up 0.08% to 773.76 points, while the EGX100 index added 0.23% to 1,739.66 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index grew 0.82% at 2,475 points.

Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 55.4 million, while foreign and Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 31.4 million and EGP 24 million, respectively.

Trading volume stood at 445.6 million shares exchanged through 34,900 transactions at a turnover of EGP 1.25 billion.
