EGX closes Tuesday in green

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Tuesday’s trading session in a rise, on the back of Arab investors’ purchases.

The main index EGX30 went up 1.49%, gaining 201.23 points, and closed at the level of 13,684.27 points.

The EGX70 index rose 0.48% to 689.79 points, and the broader index EGX100 added 0.53% and closed at 1,574.83 points.

Similarly, the equal-weighted index EGX50 increased by 1.29% to the level of 2,118 points.

Meanwhile, the market capital continued its rising trend, as it grew by EGP 4.56 billion to EGP 711.23 billion.

On Monday, the market cap hit its highest level in nine years, since 11 August 2008, as it reached EGP 706.6 billion, with an increase of EGP 4.95 billion compared to the level of the previous session.

Traded volumes reached 521.14 million shares at the close of Tuesday’s session, while liquidity reached EGP 1.26 billion through 32,900 transactions.

Arab investors were inclined to buy with a net of EGP 68.13 million, while Egyptian and foreign investors were net buyers at EGP 58.43 million and EGP 9.6 million, respectively.
