EGX closes Tuesday on mixed note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session on a mixed note aimed Arab buying.

The benchmark EGX30 index edged up 0.42% or 58.04 points to the level of 13,928.38 points.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) grew 0.14% to EGP 77.71 with a turnover of EGP 64.40 million.

Market capitalisation closed at EGP 768.7 billion, losing EGP 855.8 million.

The EGX70 index fell 1.15% to 775.46 points, while the EGX100 index tumbled 0.79% to 1,737.15 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index added 0.35% to 2,455.57 points.

Blue chips including Egyptian Resorts Co, Egyptian Financial and Industrial (EFIC), and EFG Hermes rose 2.86%, 2.56%, and 1.58%, respectively.

On the other hand, Talaat Moustafa Group Holding (TMGH), Amer Group, and Emaar Misr dropped 4.42%, 2.78%, and 2.37%, respectively.

Trading volume stood at 478.19 million shares exchanged through 37,460 transactions at a turnover of EGP 1.24 billion.

Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 16.4 million, while foreign and Egyptian investors were net sellers with EGP 4 million and EGP 12.39 million, respectively.
