Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Wednesday's trading session in negative territory, dragged down by local and Arab selling.
The benchmark EGX30 index slid 113.2 points, or 0.71%, to finish at 15,908.91 points.
The EGX70 index decreased 1.97%, reaching 802.58 points, while the EGX100 index fell 1.53% to 2,053 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index dropped 1.91%, reaching 2,683 points.
Market capitalisation lost EGP 8.1 billion, to close Wednesday at EGP 903 billion.
The bourse’s trading volume stood at 183.4 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 835.6 million through 21,800 transactions.
Foreign traders were net buyers with EGP 58.2 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 51.8 million, and EGP 6.4 million, respectively.
