EGX closes Wednesday down on local, Arab selling

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday’s trading session down, pressured by local and Arab selling.

The benchmark EGX30 index fell 0.19% or 27 points to the level of 13,901.38 points.

Market capitalization lost EGP 641.03 million and closed at EGP 768.13 billion.

The EGX70 index tumbled 0.3% to 773.16 points, while the EGX100 index inched down 0.09% to 1,735.6 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index tumbled slipped 0.02% to 2,454 points.

Trading volume stood at 351.8 million shares exchange through 30,900 transitions at a turnover of EGP 992.6 million.

The heavyweight Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) shed 0.91% to EGP 77 at a turnover of EGP 22.7 million.

Blue chips including Amer Group, Citadel Capital, and Arab Cotton Ginning rose 5.71%, 4.55%, and 2.13%, respectively.

On the other hand, Arabian Food Industries Co (Domty), Talaat Moustafa Group Holding (TMGH), and Ezz Steel dropped 3.7%, 2.41%, and 2.26%, respectively.
