EGX closes Wednesday in green

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange ended Wednesday’s trading session in gains, supported by the purchasing activity of Arab investors.

The benchmark index EGX30 levelled up 0.03% to settle at the level of 16,662.55 points.

The small and medium enterprise index EGX70 added 0.34% and closed at 862.71 points, while the broader index EGX100 went up 0.01% and ended the session at 2,189.18 points.

The equal-weighted index rose 0.27% to the level of 2,909.22 points.

The market capital increased by EGP 687 million, and reached a total of EGP 949.1 billion.

Traded volumes increased to 142.2 million shares, with a total turnover of EGP 687 million, through around 19,500 transactions.

Egyptian and foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 11.6 million and EGP 9.2 million, respectively.

Meanwhile, Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 20.8 million.

The Commercial International Bank (CIB), the heaviest stock in the main index went up 0.46% to EGP 84.45, while Amer Group led the rising stocks, as it increased by 3.13%.

On the other hand, Citadel was the top loser, as it fell 3.27%.
