Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Wednesday down amid Arab and foreign selling.
The benchmark EGX30 index tumbled 0.45% or 65.09 points to the level of 14,277 points.
Market capitalisation closed at EGP 782.21 billion, losing EGP 2.69 billion.
The EGX70 index inched down 0.04% to 781.68 points, while the EGX100 index slipped 0.2% to 1,764.67 points.
The equal-weighted EGX50 index shed 0.39% to 2,522 points.
Trading volume stood at 427.7 million shares exchanged at a turnover of EGP 1.2 billion through 26,800 transactions.
Egyptian investors were net buyers with EGP 88.4 million, while foreign and Arab investors were net sellers with EGP 62.03 million and EGP 26.4 million, respectively.
The heavyweight Commercial International Bank – Egypt (CIB) fell 0.11% to EGP 78.74 at a turnover of EGP 91.6 million.
