EGX closes Wednesday on mixed note

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Wednesday’s trading session on a mixed note, as the main index EGX30 levelled up 0.04%, gaining 6.02 points, and closed at the level of 13,690.29 points.

On the other hand, EGX70 declined by 0.28% to the level of 687.89 points, and the broader index EGX100 decreased 0.03% to 1,574.28 points.

The equal-weighted index EGX50 lost 0.35% and closed at the 2,111 points.

Meanwhile, the market capital closed at EGP 711.13 billion, going down by EGP 102.3 million.

Traded volumes reached 462.7 million shares, with a value of EGP 971 million, through 23,900 transactions.

Foreign and Arab investors leaned towards buying, with a net EGP 8.9 million, and EGP 40.7 million, respectively, while Egyptian investors were net buyers at EGP 49.7 million.

Portro Holding led the rising blue chip stocks, as it surged 8.57%, followed by Orascom Telecom and Eastern Company with 4.23%, and 3.35%, respectively.

As for the decliners, Domty fell 3.69%, followed by Orascom Construction with 3.5%, and Juhayna with 3.38%.
