EGX closes Wednesday on mixed note

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Wednesday’s trading session on a mixed note.

The benchmark index EGX30 maintained its upwards trend and rose by 0.48% or 64.67 points, and closed at the level of 13,590.15 points.

Commercial International Bank (CIB), the stock with the heaviest weight in the main index went down by 0.58% to EGP 75.1, with a total turnover of EGP 71.11 million.

The market capital gained EGP 5.97 billion, and closed the session at the level of EGP 768.03 billion.

Meanwhile, EGX70 fell 0.93% to 797.8 points, while the broader index EGX100 declined 0.87% to the level of 1,763.41 points.

The equal-weighted index EGX50 increased by 2.31% to 2,429.94 points.

Traded values amounted to EGP 1.97 billion, with a total volume of 521.8 million shares, through 49,130 transactions.
