EGX closes in green on foreign purchases

Cairo – Mubasher: The benchmark EGX30 index of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) rose at Wednesday’s close by 0.46% or 57.81 points to the level of 12,735.36 points.

Similarly, the EGX70, EGX100, and EGX50 indices advanced 3.26%, 2.44%, and 0.83%, respectively.

Turnover reached EGP 963.8 million, as trading volume amounted to 215.7 million shares.

Market capitalisation increased EGP 7.3 billion to EGP 627.95 billion.

Foreign investors were net buyers by EGP 33.3 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers by EGP 29.3 million and EGP 4 million, respectively.

Egypt Iron and Steel rose 8.73%, AMOC grew 8.54%, Domty leapt 6.76%, and Ezz Steel ascended 4.96%.

On the other hand, Universal, Arabian Cement, Emaar Misr, and Cairo Oil & Soap declined between 8.77% and 1.67%.

Heavyweight Commercial International Bank - Egypt (CIB) dropped 0.51% to EGP 74.55.

The benchmark EGX30 index rose on Tuesday by 0.43% or 54.33 points to the level of 12,677.55 points.
