EGX closes on mixed note

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Monday’s trading session on a mixed note, as liquidity levels declined for the second day in a row.

The benchmark index EGX30 slipped 0.04% and closed at the level of 12,866.06 points.

EGX70 went up by 0.53% to 591.25 points, while the broader index EGX100 rose 0.56% and closed at 1,367.82 points.

Meanwhile, the equal-weighted index EGX50 added 0.16% and closed at 2,060.86 points.

Traded volumes reached 287.8 million shares, while traded values recorded EGP 657.3 million, with 23,800 transactions.

As for the stocks’ performance, 86 closed in green, while 74 closed in red and 26 remained unchanged.

The Commercial International Bank - Egypt (CIB) lost 0.39% to close at EGP 76.50.

Egyptian and foreign investors leaned towards selling with EGP 10.5 million and EGP 165,000, respectively, while Arab investors were net buyers at EGP 10.67 million.

The market capital increased by EGP 1.6 billion and closed at EGP 666.6 billion.
