Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) indices retreated collectively on Sunday as the market capitalization lost EGP 1.5 billion.
The benchmark index EGX30 eased 0.12% or 9.41 points to close at 7,904.53 points.
The small and medium caps index EGX70 lost 0.49% to 343.96 points, while the broader index EGX100 slide 1.3% to 778.47 points.
The equal weighted index EGX50 went up by 0.06% to 1,322.23 points.
The market witnessed 71.5 million shares changed hands worth 209.9 million.
The market capitalization shed EGP 1.54 billion reaching EGP 405.71 billion down from EGP 407.25 billion in the previous session.
Out of 166 stocks traded today, advancers and decliners were at the same level of 60 stocks each, while 46 stocks remained unchanged.
Arab investors ended as net buyers with EGP 21.6 million, while local and foreign investors were net sellers by EGP 7.6 million and EGP 14 million respectively.
Among the day’s worst performers were Eastern Co, Elsewedy Electric, and Qalaa Holdings, as each fell 7.4%, 2.6%, and 2.2%, respectively. On the flip side, the benchmark index top gainers were Edita, up 3.4%, SODIC, up 2.0%, and ELsaeed Contracting, up 1.2%.
