Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed Tuesday’s trading session in the red territory amid lower turnover.
The benchmark EGX30 index went down by 0.87%, ending the mid-week session at 14,057 points.
Likewise, the small- and mid-cap EGX70 index dropped by 1.08% to 524 points, while the broader EGX100 index fell by 1.1% to 1,390 points.
In the meantime, the equal-weighted EGX50 index decreased by 1.08% to 2,017 points.
Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 41.14 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 27.05 million and EGP 14 million, respectively.
Turnover stood at EGP 444 million after 155 million shares were exchanged through about 16,600 transactions.
Market capitalisation plunged by EGP 7.6 billion to EGP 707.4 billion.
