Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange's indices saw a slide in the mid-week trading session amid Arab and foreign institutions' selling wave.
The main index EGX30 fell 73.5 points, 0.9%, to 8199.65 points.
The largest EGX30 constituent, CIB, decreased 1.3% to EGP 48.8 at close.
The small and mid-cap index EGX70 went down 0.5% to 360.9 points.
The broader index EGX100 was 0.5 lower to 799.5 points.
The equal-weighted index EGX50 edged down 0.1% to 1414.2 points.
Out of 132 traded stocks, 53 were up, 75 down, and 34 flat.
Arab and Foreign investors were net sellers by EGP 33.8 million and EGP 9.7 million respectively, while Egyptians were net buyers by EGP 43.5 million.
Market Capitalization lost EGP 2.2 billion to close at EGP 416.9 billion against EGP 419.1 billion yesterday.
The top losers were Edita, Memphis Pharmaceutical, and Ismailia National Food Industries with a slide of 8.8%, 8.2%, and 5.4% respectively.
Meanwhile, the top gainers were Beltone (+9.96%), General Company for Land Reclamation (+7.16%), and Rakta Paper Manufacturing (+5.44%).
