EGX down at close on Egyptian, Arab sales

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) ended Thursday’s trading session in red, on the pressure of the selling activity by Egyptian and Arab investors.

The benchmark index EGX30 went down by 0.13%, losing 17 points, and closed at the level of 12,967.38 points.

EGX70 fell 0.40% and closed at 590.45 points, while the broader index EGX100 slipped 0.05% to 1,360.98 points.

The equal-weighted index EGX50 decreased by 0.40% to the level of 2,083.11 points.

Egyptian and Arab investors were net sellers at EGP 14.7 million and EGP 21 million, respectively, while foreign investors were net buyers at EGP 35.6 million.

The market capital increased by EGP 351 million and closed at EGP 662.6 billion.

Traded values reached 111.4 million shares with a turnover of EGP 586.2 million through 22,400 transactions.
